Italian Space Age Lounge Chairs, Attr. to De Pas, D’Urbino & Lomazzi

Exceptional pair of sculptural Italian lounge chairs dating from the late 1960s or early 1970s, attributed to the design group of Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi.

Each chair features a generously proportioned, low-slung form with flowing organic lines and a fully upholstered body. The rounded shell is complemented by a loose seat cushion, padded backrest and cylindrical headrest, creating a distinctive and highly comfortable composition. The chairs are upholstered in the original warm cognac-brown leatherette, displaying an attractive age-related patina, gentle creasing and minor traces of use consistent with their vintage character. Their enveloping silhouette and bold, futuristic appearance are strongly associated with the Italian Space Age movement. A rare and highly decorative pair, ideal for a sophisticated living room, lounge, hotel interior or collector’s setting.
