Delfi dining table by Carlo Scarpa & Marcel Breuer for Simon Gavina, Italy

Monumental “Delfi” dining table designed by Carlo Scarpa and Marcel Breuer for Simon Gavina, 1970s

A part of the celebrated Ultrarazionale collection. Executed in honed white Carrara marble, the table features a substantial floating rectangular top resting on two sculptural pedestal supports with recessed fluted detailing. A characteristic Scarpa intervention balancing classical architectural language with rigorous modernist geometry. The design embodies the dialogue between Breuer’s rationalist forms and Scarpa’s refined material sensibility, resulting in a piece that is both austere and highly sculptural. With its monolithic proportions and architectural presence, the Delfi table has become one of the most iconic and collectible Italian design pieces of the late 20th century.
