Set of six ‘121’ dining chairs designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina, Italy, 1960s.
The chairs combine a solid walnut frame with beautifully shaped original leather seats and backrests in a distinctive Russian red tone. The warm reddish-brown leather has developed a rich natural patina over the years. The design is particularly recognizable by its generous curved backrest, fine stitched leather edges, and the small arched opening where the backrest meets the seat. The restrained walnut frame contrasts beautifully with the strong shape and color of the leather.
Condition:
In good original condition. The leather shows natural patina, scratches and signs of use consistent with age. The walnut frames show some minor marks and wear. These traces have been intentionally retained as part of the original character of the set.
