Djinn 2-seater sofa by Olivier Mourque. Reupholstered in a stunning cream bouclé.

The Djinn sofa is one element of a series of Djinn furniture designed by noted French designer Olivier Mourgue. In 1965 the first piece of the series, a Chaise Longue, was introduced by Airborne in Merignac Cedex, France. The rest of the series was released in 1965 and includes the iconic "Low Fireside Chair", a two-seat sofa, and a footstool. It remained in production until 1976.

Rare Djinn chair with ottoman by Olivier Mourgue and manufactured by Airborne International, circa 1965. Early edition newly upholstered in high-quality mohair wool in a light green.
This beautiful set is well known for its appearance in “2001: A Space Odyssey” by Stanley Kubrick and is part of Centre de Pompidou and New York’s MoMA collection. Examples of armchairs without armrests are more common, and parts with armrests are much harder to find.

In excellent condtion because of new fabric.
