Artona Dining Table by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto, Italy

Artona dining table designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa and produced by Maxalto (B&B Italia) in Italy during the 1970s.

The table features a striking round top executed in beautifully patterned walnut burl veneer, framed by the characteristic striped inlay edge that is distinctive to the Artona series. It rests on one sculptural rectangular pedestal base, giving the piece both visual balance and strong architectural presence. Inside the base is the original concrete stabilizing block, a construction detail used by Maxalto to ensure balance and stability for the top.
