Peter Opsvik “Passion” Cylindra Pine Object Cabinet, Norway, 1986

Rare sculptural cabinet from the celebrated Cylindra Objects series by Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik. Titled “Passion.”.

The cabinet transforms from a cylindrical form into a figurative composition depicting two faces in profile. When closed, the opposing profiles meet in a kiss, reflecting Opsvik’s exploration of narrative and emotional expression through furniture. Crafted in solid pine with black-painted carved details, the cabinet functions equally as sculpture and storage. The interior reveals a fitted arrangement of original circular shelves and sculptural central divider, all appearing complete and original. The warm pine surface, natural knots, and expressive carving emphasize the handmade character of the work. Accompanied by its original signed Certificate of Authenticity from Cylindra AS and Peter Opsvik.
